China and Russia are a pair of important major (country) relations in today's changing world situation. Over the past 30 years, China and Russia have continuously promoted the upgrading of bilateral relations, which has made the Sino-Russian strategic partnership of coordination deeper and closer. It has brought new changes to the international pattern and world order, but at the same time they are also facing common and different severe challenges. How can China and Russia promote the development and prosperity of their own societies, improve win-win cooperation in the region and the world, ensure the harmonious coexistence of world cultures, and make mankind move forward in the direction of “a community of common destiny” through expanding innovative exchanges and dissemination?
To this end, the School of Foreign Language of Xinjiang University and the School of Contemporary Chinese Communication Studies of Hangzhou Normal University will jointly host the 12th National Seminar on Contemporary Chinese Discourse Studies from August 5 to August 7, 2022. The theme of this conference is “Innovation in Sino-Russian Exchanges and Reconstruction of the Global Order”. The conference will focus on the following issues from the perspectives of communication, discourse studies, intercultural communication, international relations and other related disciplines:
Topic 1: Comparison and Mutual Learning of Sino-Russian Communication Studies, Discourse Studies, Intercultural Communication Studies, and Humanities;
Topic 2: Historical Changes of Contemporary Sino-Russian Communication;
Topic 3: Characteristics, Laws and Future Strategies of Sino-Russian Communication in the New Century;
Topic 4: Resources and Potential of Communication between China and Russia in response to World Problems;
Topic 5: Experience and Lessons from Sino-Russian Exchanges and Dissemination for Promoting International/Global Governance;
Topic 6: Sino-Russian Exchanges and the Global Development of “the Belt and Road Initiative”
The format of the conference is divided into: (A) keynote speech (full text is required to be submitted, the deadline for submission of abstracts is the same, and about 10 papers will be selected through content quality competition) and (B) panel report.

Date of Acceptance Notice: July 20, 2022
Abstract of the report: no less than 300 words; Full text: no less than 8000 words; Attach the name, gender, nation, affiliation and other information, in the form of a word document (see receipt on the next page) to Ms. Xie: discourses@zju.edu.cn. For the sake of academic construction and development in this field and to maximize the interests of participants, the conference affairs team will strictly screen the abstracts and the full text of the report mainly from three aspects of relevance, credibility and innovation.
The conference is free, and the transportation and accommodation expenses are at your own expense. The working languages are Chinese, English and Russian.
